Global IT consulting firm Tech Mahindra is on a trajectory to achieve net zero emissions by 2035, and its Chief Sustainability Officer has very little concern that large-scale AI deployment will jeopardise this goal. 

Sandeep Chandna’s confidence comes from the company’s recent experience in making its offering more sustainable through green data centres and ecodesign training for coders. “Green data centres help minimise the environmental footprint by leveraging renewable energy and IoT sensors to bring in energy, cooling and waste efficiencies,” he explains.
