ScandiNova names first Head of Sustainability
ScandiNova Systems, a company providing high-voltage pulsed power solutions for science, medical and industrial applications, has appointed Pernilla Enkler as the head of its new sustainability, quality, and communications unit.
Enkler was previously Chief Sustainability Officer at sustainable pulp and paper startup Eternali since August 2022. There, she initiated and developed the sustainability agenda and was responsible for strategy and reporting.
She will start her new role on January 8, where she aims to “integrate sustainability into ScandiNova’s day to day business as well as setting the long-term agenda”. She will also join the company’s Executive Group Management.
ScandiNova says it considers environmental impacts when developing new products, but doesn’t appear to have a climate plan. Its products, which include pulse generators used in food processing and magnetron modulators used for radiotherapy, claim to reduce direct energy consumption by 30% and decrease the need for cooling water and air conditioning.
A privately-owned company, ScandiNova does not communicate financial information or publish sustainability reports. In the past year, it expanded its portfolio through the acquisition of three companies: Scanditronix Magnet, IECO and Microwave Amps.
“Sustainability is an important part of ScandiNova’s strategy, and I am really excited to welcome Pernilla to ScandiNova. With her vast experience, she will play a key role in accelerating ScandiNova’s work and commitment to advancing sustainability within our business,” said Niklas Edling, CEO of ScandiNova Group.
