HSBC Chief Sustainability Officer Celine Herweijer steps down
Julian Wentzel will step in as Interim Group Chief Sustainability Officer while HSBC looks for a permanent replacement.
HSBC’s Chief Sustainability Officer Celine Herweijer has announced her decision to leave the bank, just weeks after being removed from the executive committee as part of a governance reshuffle.
Herweijer was appointed Chief Sustainability Officer and member of the Group Executive Committee in 2021, and will be leaving HSBC at the end of the year after three and a half years in the role “to pursue new opportunities”.
